Gardner’s Capital Spending Survey is the largest, most comprehensive survey detailing future spending in the durable goods manufacturing industries. The 2014 survey forecast spending on metalcutting to be $7.442 billion, an increase of 20% compared to the latest estimate for 2013. The forecast indicates that machine tool sales will be at their highest level in more than a decade. The trend reports show by machine type and by industry the market segments that will be hot in 2014.
