Gardner’s Capital Spending Survey is the largest, most comprehensive survey detailing future spending in the durable goods manufacturing industries. The 2013 survey forecast spending on metalcutting to be $6.634 billion, an increase of 8% compared to the latest estimate for 2012. The forecast indicates that machine tool sales will be at their highest level in more than a decade. The trend reports show by machine type and by industry the market segments that will be hot in 2013.
